Fayetteville — Peter Fischer, MD, recently joined Washington Regional as the medical director of trauma surgery. In this role, he is responsible for the quality of care and scope of services for Washington Regional’s Level II trauma center, which provides the highest level of trauma care in the region. Fischer also serves as a surgeon at Washington Regional General Surgery Clinic and provides general surgical care for hospitalized patients.
Fischer earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and holds a
Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis,
Tennessee. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science
Center, and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland,
