The Breast Center Adds Melanie Smith, DO

Fayetteville – Melanie Smith, D.O., joined The Breast Center, A MANA Clinic, in March, at 55 W. Sunbridge Drive in Fayetteville to provide expert breast care.


Dr. Smith is fellowship trained in Breast Imaging and has 12 years of experience in women’s health.
Smith interprets screening and diagnostic imaging and performs interventional breast procedures. She is passionate about educating women about breast health and early detection of breast cancer, as well as improving the experience for people with breast cancer for the best possible outcomes. 


Before joining The Breast Center of Northwest Arkansas, a MANA Clinic, Dr. Smith was the Director of Breast Imaging at Mercy Breast Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. During her time in Oklahoma City, she was a leader at the Multidisciplinary Breast Conference, contributed to improving the breast cancer patient navigation process, and spoke at women’s health education events.


Smith is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, the American College of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. Smith joins a dynamic team of breast radiology partners at The Breast Center
including Drs. Kelly Pierce, Britton Lott, Katherine Rankin, Whitney Sipe, Holly Gonzales, Bennett Battle, Michelle Walters, and Andrea Placzek. The doctors own the medical practice and operate as business partners to ensure the best quality care at their clinics.

The Breast Center, A MANA Clinic, has locations in Fayetteville, Bentonville, Harrison, Springdale, and Bella Vista. It is Accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and is designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. The Breast Center’s mission is to provide hope through early detection and personalized care. They offer 3D Mammograms, Breast MRI, Dense Breast Ultrasound Screening, Risk Assessment, Genetic testing, and an array of diagnostic breast imaging services.
