LITTLE ROCK – Baptist Health welcomes Drs. Bernard Gojer and Ernesto Ruiz-Rodriguez, new physicians at Arkansas Cardiology, to the Baptist Health Heart Institute.

The heart institute offers a full range of cardiovascular services including education and prevention, diagnostics, emergency care, transplantation and cardiac rehabilitation programs by partnering with some of the most experienced heart physicians.

Gojer has more than 20 years of experience practicing interventional and general cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular CT and vascular medicine and holds five board certifications. His expertise includes interventional and general cardiology, peripheral vascular disease, nuclear cardiology, transthoracic echo and trans-esophageal echo, vascular ultrasound, arrhythmia/pace maker/defibrillator management, congestive heart failure management, lipid management and preventive cardiology and CT calcium scoring and coronary CT angiography.

Gojer joined Arkansas Cardiology in July and is seeing patients in Conway.

Ruiz-Rodriguez completed his residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and then went on to complete three fellowships: Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Kentucky; Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Interventions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; and Structural Heart Disease and Advanced Interventional Cardiology at the University of Minnesota. He is the only fellowship-trained cardiologist in structural heart disease that performs transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive alternative to traditional valve replacement, in central Arkansas. His other clinical interests include complex percutaneous coronary and peripheral endovascular interventions.

In addition, Ruiz-Rodriguez is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He joined the Little Rock offices of Arkansas Cardiology in August.
