WASHINGTON – 4/21/2023 – Today, the Supreme Court rejected lower-court restrictions on the use of Mifepristone, a drug used in the most common form of abortion, while a lawsuit continues appealing a lower court ruling that would roll back Food and Drug Administration approval of the drug.
The drug has been approved for use in the U.S. since 2000 with more than 5 million people having used it. Mifepristone is used in combination with a second drug, misoprostol, in most abortions in the U.S.
