JONESBORO – Carter Lee, D.O., has joined the medical staff at St. Bernards Clopton Clinic in Jonesboro after completing a residency through the St. Bernards Internal Medicine Residency Program, which trains new internal medicine specialist physicians.
A native of Sherwood, Dr. Lee graduated from Arkansas State University in 2016 before earning his doctorate of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) in 2020 as a member of NYITCOM at Arkansas State’s inaugural graduating class. Now, as a member of St. Bernards Medical Group, he joins a team of more than 20 multi-specialty healthcare providers started by the late Dr. Owen Clopton about 60 years ago.
“As part of St. Bernards Internal Medicine Residency team, I had the privilege of practicing inside the Clopton Clinic building for three years,” Dr. Lee said. “The physicians here have served Northeast Arkansas for years, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue helping patients alongside them.”
Dr. Lee’s arrival will only strengthen the care options at St. Bernards Clopton Clinic, said Ben Owens, Jr., M.D., internal medicine specialist.
“Access to care remains a critical component of what we do,” Dr. Owens said. “Dr. Lee is from Arkansas. He knows St. Bernards, and he understands the specific challenges our patients face. He could have practiced anywhere, and we’re honored he chose to stay here.”
Dr. Lee holds board certification in Internal Medicine, Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and licensure with the Arkansas State Medical Board. He lives in Jonesboro with his wife, Lexi, a doctor of nurse practitioner with St. Bernards Medical Center.
