Van Buren – Vijay Kannam, MD, is now accepting patients at Sparks Clinic Family Medicine. 

In his practice, Dr. Kannam will see patients of all ages for minor illnesses and a variety of chronic medical problems including hypertension, diabetes, kidney diseases and heart conditions.

Dr. Kannam recently earned his degree in Family Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Before that he completed training for a Master of Public Health Degree at Missouri State University in Springfield.

During his education, Dr. Kannam was also a Public Health Intern and Volunteer at the Arkansas Department of Health in Little Rock for three years where he helped develop programs to improve maternal and child health and reduce infant mortality rates in southeast Arkansas counties.
