FORT SMITH - Allyson Weedn Moulton, MD, is a fifth generation surgeon, born and raised in Fort Smith, who has returned to the area to join Sparks Health System as a surgeon.

She will work alongside C. Michael Gooden, MD, and Laurence Lo, MD, at Surgical Associates of Fort Smith.

Dr. Moulton practices general surgery, trauma surgery and has a fellowship in cosmetic surgery. During her residency, she trained at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and Virginia Tech Carilion, both Level 1 Trauma Centers.

Dr. Moulton is available for self-referrals for issues such as troublesome skin lesions, hernias, abdominal pain as well as common cosmetic procedures.

The daughter of an ophthalmologist, Dr. Moulton said she’s always known she would be a physician and had the opportunity to meet surgeons at Sparks at a young age. She says that’s what inspired her to go into the challenging field of general and cosmetic surgery
