LITTLE ROCK - Thurston Bauer, MD, has joined the CHI St. Vincent Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic.
In addition to adult cardiac and general thoracic surgery, Dr. Bauer will be working with Dr. Muhammad Waqas to build a LVAD (left ventricular assist device) program. This program is for patients with advanced heart failure who are not responding well to medical therapy. The LVAD may even be a permanent solution for patients who are not eligible for a heart transplant.
Dr. Bauer received a bachelor of arts degree from Colorado College and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in integrated cardiothoracic surgery at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Bauer joins his father, Dr. Michael F. Bauer in practice at the CHI St. Vincent Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic, which also offers services from Drs. Charles Watkins, Fred Meadors and Thomas Rayburn.
